Fibromyalgia is a general condition that causes widespread pain. A review study from 2013 states that CBD can help relieve some symptoms caused by fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia treatment with CBD can reduce pain thanks to CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties.

There are many reports about CBD and its uses. Additionally, there are also reports about the usefulness of hemp in general, from textiles to CBD oils.

It might be not only a panacea, but also an essential material for garment, ropes, and fabric in general.

Brief history of hemp

In 1492 Christopher Columbus commanded and Spanish expedition to find a new route to the Indies. While sailing in the Atlantic Ocean, at one point, Diego de Triana, a of the crewmen on board, spotted land. However, that land was not the Indies, but the Americas.

For this first voyage, they sailed with three ships. All these ships had sails made of hemp canvas, a coarse fabric used for sails. Obviously, at that time, hemp (CBD) was not used for the treatment of fibromyalgia or other ailments but as a coarse and durable fabric to make ropes and sails.

Perhaps, you didn’t know that the hemp industry was the dominant and essential industry until the 1940s. For instance, the American government lifted the ban on hemp during WWII and encouraged its cultivation to create hemp fiber for ropes and many other uses. This program was called Hemp for Victory; nevertheless, after WWII, hemp reverted to its previous illegal status.

CBD is becoming a multibillion business. Moreover, many people are very excited about CBD as a remedy for many ailments. However, we should be careful with all the excitement and hopes. CBD still needs a lot of research to determine its uses and potential health benefits. For instance, some sources claim that CBD has anti-cancer properties. Although this assertion could be right, we still need more information to prove its efficacy for the treatment of cancer.

Fibromyalgia treatment with CBD can help some patients to relieve the symptoms. However, we still don’t know why CBD works and why some patients feel improvements while others report no significant pain relief progresses.

Some preliminary researches think that fibromyalgia could be related to the way our brain processes pain.

Fibromyalgia affects more women than men. Moreover, many times fibromyalgia is also associated with other symptoms such as irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, and depression.

There is no cure for fibromyalgia and the treatment focuses on controlling the symptoms, relaxation techniques, and stress-reduction.

We know that fibromyalgia worsens when the person experiences periods of anxiety and stress. CBD for anxiety treatment is used for thousands of people to reduce and control anxiety.

Fibromyalgia treatment with CBD can help reduce the anxiety and stress that worsens the symptoms. Apparently, people who suffer fibromyalgia, lack the endocannabinoid receptors and, hence, don’t produce their own cannabinoids. CBD helps them to get the cannabinoids they need for pain relief.

Fibromyalgia treatment with CBD could be very useful for people who suffered from this chronic illness.

Finally, some sources state that CBD works better if combined with THC for fibromyalgia treatment.

In conclusion, cannabis hasn’t been used and cultivated for no reason. It’s a plant with many incredible properties and some sources even defining cannabis and CBD as a panacea.

Other Uses of Hemp: An Alternative to Cotton

Recently, Levi’s has released a pair of jeans made from cotton and hemp. However, hemp, in general, is a coarse fiber more suitable for ropes than for clothes. Nonetheless, it’s cheaper to produce hemp fiber than cotton as it doesn’t require as much water as cotton.

Therefore, the challenge is to produce hemp fiber that is smooth and more comfortable to wear. It seems as Levi’s has found the way to soften hemp fibers to make them feel like cotton. Moreover, they expect to use 100% hemp garment within five years.

The possibilities of hemp are so great that we can obtain medicine and fibers from it. If we consider all its properties, hemp is one of the best allies for humanity.

CBD and Hemp Uses: conclusion

CBD for anxiety treatment has been used for thousands of people. The federal government is investing 3 million USD in researching CBD effects on pain, and many people report improvements when using CBD for many other ailments.

Fibromyalgia treatment with CBD can help patients to control and reduce the symptoms. However, scientific researches are still ongoing to determine its efficacy and the right dose for the treatment of fibromyalgia.

Furthermore, hemp fabric is starting to be used for the garment. Nonetheless, it will take a few more years to completely “cottonize” hemp fibers.

The legalization of hemp has helped many people who suffered from a wide variety of conditions. There is much ongoing research that hopefully will prove more CBD health benefits.
